Level 2 Skills

The level 2 skills award aims to enable participants to kayak safely and competently on flat water as a member of a group while also being able to assist in basic rescues.

This course is run on flat water over two days. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of more advanced flat-water skills, how to safely enjoy taking part in kayak trips and how to participate in a capsize recovery. This course is suitable for beginners but it does help if you have taken part in a kayak activity before. This is the ideal follow on to our 'First steps' Session for those who are looking to learn specific strokes and techniques.

We provide all of the required equipment so all you will need is a towel and swimwear for under your wetsuit. You can also use your own equipment if you would prefer.

What is the perfect forward stroke?

Whether your an adventure racer, planning a long distance trip or even fancy trying your hand at some marathon kayaking. Almost every kayaker can benefit from a forward stroke clinic.

Improving your forward stroke is one of the quickest ways to see a noticeable improvement in your paddling skills. A powerful and efficient stroke will allow you to make harder moves while conserving energy

Our forward stroke clinics break down the paddle stroke into each component part before analysing how you can get the best out of every action. We use video analysis to review your technique throughout the session.
