The Hōu 16 is a British-made, polyethylene open canoe designed by Colin Broadway, built on a proven shallow arch hull that delivers excellent initial stability alongside genuine manoeuvrability. At 490 cm in length with a 460 kg carrying capacity, it is the ideal choice for outdoor education centres, schools, and family paddlers who need a robust and versatile boat. Constructed from Hōu's three-layer foam-core polyethylene sandwich, it handles everything from flat water and open lakes through to bouncy white water with confidence. Supplied in a standard tandem configuration with two seats and a carrying yoke, it is equally at home on a day trip with family or loaded up for a multi-day adventure.
