Galway Fest 2016
March can only mean one thing in the Irish Paddling Calendar its Galway Fest time. Galway Fest is a white water race on Saturday followed by a freestyle competition on Sunday.
Saturday was a lovely bright sunny day. Water and sunshine - what more could you ask for?
The white water race was held on the Boluisce which is a dam released river ensuring water for the race. There was a great turn out and it was especially good to see a high number in the female class. Great fun jumping in the creek boat and getting loads of runs in the sunshine.
Sunday dawned grey and over cast. The rain came a little too late leaving Tuam hole a little low. It was challenging to try do moves at this level but definitely a big learning experience to dial in feature at this level. Good to see a good turn in all classes in freestyle.
It was a super to see everyone and great to see everyone having so much fun on the water. Massive thanks to Barry, Andrew and all the Galway crew for another great Galway Fest.
